Who we are
Green Grass ("we", "us") is the operator of the Green Grass mobile application and related web services. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our services.
Information we collect
- Account and profile: for example name, email address, username, profile photo, and verification-related information associated with your account.
- Content you provide: posts, comments, messages, media attachments, and similar content you choose to upload.
- Device and technical data: basic device or app diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service (for example app version, crash logs where enabled, and network requests to our servers).
Camera (Android permission: CAMERA)
We request access to your device camera only where the app offers a feature that needs it—for example so you can capture a photo to attach when sending a message or similar in-app flows that present a camera control. We do not access your camera in the background without your action in the app.
Photos you capture are used to fulfil the feature you are using (for example attaching an image to a message). Images may be transmitted to our servers and stored as part of that content, consistent with how other media you upload is handled. We retain this content for as long as needed to provide the service and as described in the Retention section below.
Contacts (mobile: invite friends — optional)
On the mobile app, you may choose to allow access to your device address book to invite people you know to Green Grass. We ask for this permission only when you tap to allow it in Settings (or a future invite flow). We use contact information only to help you send invites or find people who may already be on the platform. We do not sell contact data. If you deny access, you can still use Green Grass without contact invites. When invite matching is enabled, contact data sent to our servers is handled like other account data described in this policy and may be stored until you delete your account or we no longer need it for the service, subject to backup and legal retention limits.
Location (Android permissions: ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION)
Where the app asks for location, it is used to support features that rely on your position—for example helping you provide latitude and longitude when registering a masjid or other location-assisted flows shown in the app. You can refuse permission; features that depend on location may not work fully without it.
How we use information
We use personal information to provide, maintain, and improve Green Grass; to secure accounts and content; to communicate with you about the service where appropriate; and to meet legal obligations.
Third parties
We use infrastructure providers to host our application and API, and cloud database and file storage providers to persist account data and media you upload. Those providers process information on our instructions as service providers. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete content or your account where the product supports deletion, we delete or anonymise it subject to reasonable backup and legal retention needs.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
Green Grass is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law in your region. If you believe we have collected information from a child inappropriately, contact us using the details below.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will adjust the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app or by email.
